2019 Ice Hockey World Championship: Free Public Transport with a game ticket and increased frequency of transport services


FREE TRANSPORT ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES IN BRATISLAVA

All 2019 IHWC game ticket holders will be able to use all Public Transport routes free of charge. Free transport will be provided from 10.5.2019 to 26.5.2019. Upon ticket inspection, passengers will present a 2019 IHWC game ticket or an IIHF card directly in Public Transport vehicles. Please note that presenting these tickets or cards at a later time is not permitted.

Free travel on Public Transport vehicles applies to the following groups of passengers:

  1. passengers who present a game ticket for any 2019 Ice Hockey World Championship (2019 IHWC) game, but the validity date must be identical with the day of their travel on Public Transport vehicles.
  2. accredited (marked) participants or organisers who present a card issued by IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation), for the entire duration of 2019 IHWC.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES DURING 2019 IHWC

DPB, a.s. will provide more frequent tram, trolleybus and bus transport services mainly by shortening the interval and by deploying articulated buses at weekends. A shuttle service will run from one of the 4 car parks. Trams will also be deployed to ensure more frequent services from the train station to the ice hockey arena (Zímný štadión). The Dispatch Centre of the DPB, a.s. will also increase the frequency of Public Transport services with added vehicles as required.

Increased frequency of Public Transport:

- shorter intervals for tram routes 2 and 4 during evening hours

- shorter intervals for bus route 61 after morning peak traffic

- increased capacity for trolleybus routes 204 and 207 at weekends with added articulated vehicles

- shuttle bus route H connecting the “Technická” park and ride car park with the ice hockey arena (Zimný štadión)

- increased frequency of services after the evening games at the ice hockey arena, and also after the Slovakia national team game broadcasts at the Fanzone.

- increased frequency of tram services to transport the Czech fans from special train services to the city and the arena

- increased frequency of tram services to transport the Slovak fans from the “Macejko” special train services to all tram destinations

Shuttle services for the Technická park and ride car park – former Technické služby premises:

route H: Technická – Bočná – Galvaniho – Rožňavská – Trnavská cesta – Zimný štadión – Trnavské mýto (route 53) – Vajnorská – Bajkalská – Trnavská cesta – Rožňavská – Galvaniho – Bočná – Technická

service operation hours: 8:00 – 23:00 (working days and weekends)

Service operation period: 10.5.2019 – 26.5.2019 (except 22.5. and 24.5., when no games are played)

interval: daytime and weekends: 15 min.

Regular increased frequency transport:

route 61

increased frequency hours: working days: 8:00 – 24:00, weekend: 10:00 – 24:00

Service operation period: 10.5.2019 – 26.5.2019 (daily)

interval: daytime and weekends: 10 min., afternoon peak traffic: 7-8 min.

route 2

increased frequency hours: 18:00 – 23:00 (working days and weekends)

Service operation period: 10.5.2019 – 26.5.2019 (except 22.5. and 24.5., when no games are played)

interval: 7-8 min.

route 4 will have an increased frequency to provide a connection with park and ride car parks - Dúbravka - futbalový štadión ŠKP, the Zlaté piesky park and ride car park

increased frequency hours: 18:00 – 23:00 (working days and weekends)

Service operation period: 10.5.2019 – 26.5.2019 (except 2.5. and 24.5., when no games are played)

interval: 7-8 min.

Special increased frequency transport:

After the end of the games at the ice hockey arena: the Dispatch Centre of the DPB, a.s. will ensure that Public Transport vehicles are available as required at the stops around the arena after the end of the evening games. Increased frequency of single-journey transport will be provided as required on the main transport routes from the ice hockey arena (Zimný štadión)/Trnavské mýto for routes 75, 98, 39, 61, 204, 207, 8 (from the Bajkalská and Zimný štadión stops).

After the end of the Slovakia national team game broadcasts at the Fanzone: the Dispatch Office of the DPB, a.s. will ensure that Public Transport Vehicles are available as required at the stops around Trnavské mýto -  Fanzone after the Slovakia national team games on 10.5., 11.5., 13.5., 15.5., 17.5., 18.5., 21.5.2019 for routes 61, 39, 68, 201 (from the Trnavské mýto stop).

To the Macejko trains (Košice – Bratislava): train arrives at approx. 3:58 at Hlavná stanica, trams depart at approx. 4:10 on: 11.5., 12.5., 14.5., 16.5., 18.5., 19.5., 22.5.

X1: Hlavná stanica – Petržalka, Jungmannova

X3: Hlavná stanica – Rača, Komisárky

X4: Hlavná stanica – Zlaté piesky

X5: Hlavná stanica – Dúbravka, Pri kríži

To the trains from the Czech Republic (Czech Republic – Bratislava): train arrives before the Czech Republic national team games on: 10.5., 11.5., 13.5., 16.5., 17.5., 19.5., 21.5.; after the train arrives, 4 trams for transporting the Czech fans to the arena or city centre

The organiser of 2019 IHWC, in cooperation with the capital city, has provided park and ride car parks, where fans can park their cars and travel to the ice hockey arena using Public Transport vehicles.

Park and ride car parks:

1/ Dúbravka - futbalový štadión ŠKP and 2/ Zlaté piesky park and ride car park

tram route 4 will run at intervals of 7 to 8 min.:

Dúbravka - futbalový štadión ŠKP park and ride car park (the Horné Krčace stop) - Karlova Ves - Šafárikovo námestie - Trnavské mýto - Odbojárov, access to Zimný štadión – the Zlaté piesky park and ride car park

3/ Tyršovo nábrežie

tram route 1 will run at intervals of 4 to 8 min.:

Petržalka - Sad Janka kráľa - Šafárikovo námestie - change at Šafárikovo námestie to route 4 

4/ Technická – former premises of Technické služby shuttle service of route H at an interval of 15 min.: Technická – park and ride car park - Zimný štadión
